Anothen

Anothen is a global ministry led by Mark and Julie Appleyard. It does a lot under one name: a network of micro churches that meet in homes around the world, the YouChurch app that serves those groups, executive coaching for business leaders, and a set of books. They needed a website that could hold all of that without feeling crowded, and help each visitor find the one part that fits them.

Legacy Co. designed the Anothen 2.0 website, page by page. Later, we rebuilt the site from WordPress to Squarespace, so the team can update it without a pile of plugins to manage.

The Look

We built the site around the ministry's lion mark and its tagline, "business from Heaven's perspective." The palette is charcoal, black, and warm gold, with a faint world map behind the dark sections to show the global reach. Gold rules, wide letter spacing, and black-and-white photography of Roman columns give it weight without feeling cold.

The Pages

• Home introduces the YouChurch app with App Store and Google Play buttons, then walks through four steps of the micro church model: Link, Encounter, Activate, and Deliver. Each step has its own phone screen so people can see the app before they download it. The page closes with Mark and Julie's story, a client quote, and an invitation to executive coaching.
• Resources works as the online store. Books, a live video conference, and coaching tiers sit in a simple grid, each with one clear button.
• Partner Scheduling Portal gives partners one place to book time with Mark and the team.
• Contact keeps it simple: a short form and the same app and newsletter sign-up that close every page.

The App Screens

The website and the app had to feel like one thing. We designed phone mockups and in-app landing screens that use the same gold frames and arrows as the site, with clear "discover how here" prompts that lead people into Micro Church and Biz Solutions content.
