The Resting PlaceThe Resting Place
A calm, clear website for a faith-based healing center, built so people can find their next step.

The Resting Place is a faith-based counseling and healing center. Its team brings together licensed counseling, spiritual direction, inner healing, and deliverance ministry. That range is a gift to the people they serve, and it is also hard to explain. Someone arriving in pain needs to know two things fast: is this a safe place, and what do I do next?
We partnered with designer Nic Farley of Studio Appalachia on this project. Nic led the brand identity, and Legacy Co. designed and built the website, wrote the copy, and later led a Brand Workday with the team to sharpen their language.
The Research
We started by studying how other faith-based counseling centers present their care, including the Transformation Center at Bethel Church. We gathered the team's services, rates, policies, and questions into one content plan and mapped the site page by page in wireframes.
The Website
The site is built on Squarespace and set in warm earth tones: a deep brown, soft cream, tan, and olive, with wide mountain and interior photography that feels quiet and unhurried. Every page leads to one clear action, Get Started, which opens a short intake form so the team can reach out about next steps.
- Services explains each kind of care in plain language: counseling, inner healing, spiritual direction, and deliverance, with session lengths and rates listed up front.
- Story Group gives the center's 8-week group its own page: what it is, how it works, who leads it, and how to register.
- About holds the team, a statement of faith, location details, and a full FAQ that covers telehealth, insurance and superbills, cancellations, and what to do in an emergency.
- Home introduces the approach, then a services carousel lets visitors move between one-on-one care and group care.
The Message
A healing center has to speak to people who are tired and unsure. In a Brand Workday with the team, we worked through a BrandScript to name what visitors are carrying and where the team can walk with them. It framed the journey as moving "from weary and broken-hearted to faith-filled and whole-hearted," and that language shaped the copy across the site.
The Handoff
We built the site so the team could run it. The services carousel on the home page pulls from one services list, so an update in one place shows up everywhere. We recorded a full walkthrough with the team covering text, images, buttons, forms, contacts, and email, and delivered it with a searchable transcript so they could find any answer later.
Outcome
The Resting Place now has a site that matches the care it offers: calm, honest, and easy to follow. Visitors can see every kind of care, what it costs, and how to begin, without a phone call to sort it out. And the team can keep it current on their own as new groups and services come online.
