Radiant Central Coast

Radiant Central Coast

A church website built around one message and three simple next steps, with sermons that post themselves.

Radiant Central Coast — Radiant Central Coast

Radiant is a church family in Grover Beach, on California's Central Coast. Their vision fits in four words: All Eyes on Jesus. Their old website made people work to find the basics. Service times, groups, giving and sign-ups were scattered, and a first-time visitor had no clear next step. We rebuilt the site so the message comes first and every page points somewhere.

The Strategy

Radiant already had a strong way of describing church life: Altar, Table, Field. Seek God, be shaped by the Word and way of Jesus together, and be sent on mission. We made that rhythm the backbone of the site. Before building, we mapped every page with its goal, its main call to action, and where its content would come from, and we planned for three audiences: first-time visitors, people already attending, and partners who want to support the wider work.

The Website

The homepage opens on "All Eyes on Jesus" and two buttons: Plan a Visit and Latest Message. From there the site stays simple. Visit, Vision, Messages, Events, Give and Table Groups each do one job. Connect cards, groups, team sign-ups and giving all run through the church's existing Planning Center account, so people land in the systems the staff already use.

We worked from Radiant's existing brand, and the look is bold and warm. Tall condensed headlines sit on a soft butter yellow, and single words in each heading switch to an italic serif for emphasis. We checked every page on desktop and mobile before launch. A Spanish version of the site is live too, so Spanish-speaking neighbors can find their way in.

The Tools

A church site goes stale when updating it is a chore, so we built two small tools to carry the weekly load.

  • Sermons: a short process takes new videos from Radiant's YouTube playlist and turns them into posts on the Messages page, with title, date, description and thumbnail. Each one arrives as a draft for a quick review. It remembers what it has already posted, so nothing doubles up. We wrote a plain step-by-step guide so church staff can run it themselves.
  • Events: a sync tool reads the church calendar, sets every time to Pacific, expands repeating events, matches sign-up links, and flags only what is new or changed. Staff update the Events page from a short checklist instead of rebuilding it by hand.

Outcome

Radiant now has a website that says who they are in the first second and gives every visitor a clear next step. Posting a new sermon takes about five minutes, and staff can do it without us. Radiant is on a monthly care plan with us, so the site keeps getting looked after. The design is now the starting point for another church's new site.
