Timothy Yen, Psy.D.Pivot Counseling
A new homepage, a groups hub, a podcast, and social media for a fifteen-clinician practice.

Pivot Counseling is a group practice led by Dr. Timothy Yen, with offices in Walnut Creek and Pleasanton and telehealth across California. Fifteen clinicians cover fourteen services, from kids and teens to couples, families, assessments and psychiatry. That range is the practice's real strength. On the old website it read like a long menu. We started working with Pivot in 2025 to give every piece of its content a clear place to land, and to bring new people in the door.
The Strategy
The homepage had fourteen sections. The Services menu had fourteen items and the Team menu had fifteen. A visitor who wasn't sure Pivot was for them had to sort it all out alone.
We wrote an architecture in three layers. First, "Is this you?" doors in plain language. Then care pathways: individual, couples, family, groups, assessments and psychiatry. Then every service as its own page, so local search keeps working. Our rule was simple: nothing is cut, everything is moved to where it makes sense. The homepage plan went from fourteen sections to nine, and we designed the new homepage around it.
The message runs on a line Dr. Yen already says at the end of his videos: "When you choose better, you live better." Choose Better is a team ethos, led by Dr. Yen. Each clinician brings their own specialty to it.
Groups & Programs
Groups were a new line of care for the practice, so we designed them a home: the Groups page and a page for each group. The Groups & Programs hub went live in September 2026. Each group has its own page with who it's for, length, format and price, plus an interest-list form that feeds Pivot's intake system. Visitors can sign up before a group is scheduled, so the team knows where the demand is. We also built the thank-you page, print flyers, Google Business Profile images and a short guide for staff on handling new sign-ups.
The Podcast and Social
The Choose Better Podcast pairs Dr. Yen with one Pivot clinician at a time, five conversations per series. We made everything for it: the cover art, the videos, and its page on pivot-co.com, which runs itself. Every Saturday a script reads the YouTube playlist, finds new episodes, sorts them into series and updates the page. When a new clinician starts a season, adding them takes one entry.
We also create all of Pivot's current social media. Their following grew from zero to about 2,000, and reach keeps growing.
Keeping the Site True
Pivot closed one of its offices, but the old location was still named across dozens of pages. We cleared it from 57 pages and templates in one pass, with a backup of each page first. A wrong address is the first thing a new client notices.
Outcome
Pivot now has a map that tells every new page, post and episode where it belongs. Groups have a front door and a way to measure interest before anyone commits clinician hours. The podcast page stays current without anyone touching it. And new inquiries are turning into care: 54% of inquiries that came through the chatbot became consults, compared with 35% from the intake survey.
