Rule OR BE Ruled: PART 3
A short manifesto on taking back your peace
Refresher: Last time, we discussed the significance of silence and solitude, practices that help us cultivate a deeper connection with God by creating space for reflection and renewal.
Coming Up: Now, we’ll explore the gift of Sabbath rest—a divine invitation to step away from our work and delight in God’s presence, providing a rhythm of rest in our busy lives.
Part 3: Sabbath Rest
The concept of Sabbath rest is a divine gift that offers a respite from the relentless pace of life. It's a day to cease from our labors and delight in God's presence and creation. Jesus emphasized the importance of Sabbath, not as a legalistic requirement but as a life-giving practice (Mark 2:27).
Practical Steps:
Unplug: Dedicate one day a week where you unplug from work, social media, and other distractions.
Family Time: Use the Sabbath to reconnect with family and friends, sharing meals, conversations, and activities that bring joy.
Rest: Engage in activities that restore your soul, whether it's reading, napping, or enjoying a hobby.
