Rule OR BE Ruled: PART 2
A short manifesto on taking back your peace
Refresher: In Part 1, we explored the importance of being mindful about what controls our lives, emphasizing the need to reclaim our peace by aligning our lives with the values of the Kingdom of God.
Coming Up: In this next part, we dive into the practice of silence and solitude—essential disciplines that allow us to connect deeply with God and rejuvenate our spirits in the midst of life's busyness.
Part 2: Silence and Solitude
In the busyness of life, silence and solitude can seem like distant dreams. Yet, they are essential for cultivating a deep connection with God. Jesus himself often withdrew to lonely places and prayed (Luke 5:16). These moments of quiet are opportunities to listen to God, to reflect, and to rejuvenate our spirits.
Practical Steps:
Daily Quiet Time: Set aside 10-15 minutes each morning or evening to sit in silence, pray, and meditate on Scripture.
Retreats: Plan quarterly retreats where you spend a day in silence and solitude, away from the usual distractions.
Nature Walks: Engage in walks without your phone or other distractions, using the time to connect with God and nature.
